You're kidding me.

As a college student in her last semester of generals, I have about had it. This semester especially. Paper after paper after paper after biology test after paper after paper. There was one particular paper I was putting off when I finally had a spare 2 hours between school and work, so I said to myself, "hey, self, write your paper, you lazy girl." So I did.

A whole 4 pages and 2 lines later I was done (It was supposed to be 4 to 6 pages, so, I had enough, but I figured adding another 2 lines of BS might look just a little bit better). I was at the computer lab on campus and SO ready get out of that zombie zone and to be done with my long-procrastinated paper. So I save it, go to email it to some people in my class, and.... oh.... it's NOT THERE!

A whole 4 pages and 2 lines and one wrong click later my paper was lost. Gone. Vanished. Into thin air, just like that. You're kidding me. I'm not kidding you.

My face got all hot and I started breathing deep like I had just found out my identity had been stolen, or something. But I had to get to work and the file was nowhere to be found, so I left that computer lab before I mutated into a heap of hopless-poor-collegestudent-zombieness.

A couple of tears, a phone call to my mom, and a lot of grunting helped me get through it. But I could use a few "Oh, that happened to me, too"'s, now that I have re-written that glorious paper and I can laugh about it and write it in my journal for my kids to read when the same thing happens to them. So feel free to share your "You're kidding me" moment, and I'll feel free to feel a little bit better.

Are you kidding? I have done that like 5 times at least through my 3 1/2 years at college. I guess I am really stupid. I am more careful now. it is the worst worst worst thing ever. School sucks, but I have a pretty easy semester. Is it possible school gets easier the further you get into it cause that is how I am feeling.

My computer would always crash in the middle or near the end of writing my papers... usually right before I'd hit the save button! So I've learned to hit the save button all the time (especially on PCs). But nothing can top that I lost all of the first year of Tyler pictures (twice!) when my computer crashed... and I hadn't saved them anywhere else. SO SAD. I also lost the family cookbook twice the same way... and was so bummed I'd wait 6 months before even trying to start it again. That's why we have Macs now... the never have problems. Lesson learned (the hard way!)!

I swear that has happened to me AT LEAST 5 times. I'm soooo sorry. Just one click is all it took to (or just that one click to save). College. It'll be over before you know it.

Hey, I love the French song you have playing on your blog. It reminds me of Europe. Romantic. You know that Breathe song from Ingrid Michaelson? It sounds like a song from Grey's Anatomy...great song, I could just hear Merideth narrating the background. Sorry if that doesn't make sense. I have more time than you to watch TV.
