November the Fourth

I early voted on Friday. It was everything I ever hoped and dreamed for. I stood in line. I made new friends who cared about 53 times more than I did (which is a lot) about "the issues". I stood at a booth, I punched in [enter political party here] and before I knew it, my ballot was cast. There was no turning back and once they handed me my I VOTED TODAY sticker I knew my little voice had been heard in ballot-form.

I've asked my friends and acquaintances if they have voted. Here are some responses:

"I live in Utah, I don't need to vote."

"I forgot to register."

"Yeah. I voted. I had to stand in line for two friggin hours."

"I really don't have time. I'm going to be on campus all day. If I thought it would make a difference in the least, I would try. But I really can't." (HELLO- early voting!!!)

And, my personal favorite:
"Today is election day?"

I don't know what MY problem is, but I've been excited for this day ever since my 11th grade Government teacher made us promise to be good American citizens and vote - and I feel like I'm the only one.

I am very sad to say that I am one of the non-voters. Want to know how stupid I am??? I didn't know you had to register like way before hand, until I heard on the radio one day that the previous day was the last day to register??? What? Obviously I didn't take Government in high school. I want to vote so bad. :( I feel old

That is the same way it is up here. It makes me so sad to hear that people really don't care. I have been so excited to vote since the Al Gore vs. George Bush thing in 8th grade. I am proud of you that you voted!

You are definitely not the only one. I early voted, too---and asked for two stickers cuz I'm that much a nerd!

And being in Utah doesn't mean your vote doesn't count, right? Hello-there's more to vote for today than just the President. Silly people.

I'm a non-voter this year. We're registered in Orem still. Sad considering we haven't lived there for 2 years.
You voted straight party? hmm...let me guess which one.

"one is the loneliest number...two can be as bad a one it's the loneliest number since the number one."

I feel you have no problem. I voted today, it's fun to hear them say "Rauland Dallas Schaat has voted" or whatever your name is. It's patriotic
