I have a horrible dictionary fetish. I hear an unfamiliar word, and in record time I'm at the computer typing it in at dictionary.com or thumbing through the pages of my pocket dictionary (both of which I will detest until my going-to-Borders-and-standing-in-front-of-the-dictionary-section-and-drooling days are over). Always a fun game.
Today I used the world 'indubitably' without knowing how it managed to seep into my brain and out my mouth and right back out into the wild, fresh air without even so much as a "hello" in passing. So, of course, I went to my friend Mr. Dic Tionary(dot com) to make sure my context was correct. Sure enough, it was.
The moral of the story: pronounced correctly and in it's most proper form, indubitably is quite possibly the most hysterically funny word to hear in the known English language. Don't believe me? Click here and then on the speaker symbol next to the word and hear for yourself.

dictionary.com, i do the same thing, but when I am reading a book or something.
You probably got that word from an old cereal commercial: "They're indubitably delicious!" I had a pocket dictionary in college and I would mark all the words that I looked up. I was always embarrassed when I looked up a word and found that I'd already marked it... :)
I do this. But with spanish!
I do the same thing! I wasn't born with a very smart vocabulary, which I think we got from Mom.
When I go golfing with Dad and his work buddies, he starts using words that I have no idea what they mean. So I don't think that we got this stupidity from Dad, but rather from Mom.
